Dangerous Area Of Mining Machinery And Equipment And Its Prevention

Modern mining production makes extensive use of various mining machinery, equipment and vehicles to increase labor productivity and reduce labor intensity. Mining machinery and vehicles only have huge mechanical energy in operation, and people are often injured when they accidentally suffer from mechanical energy.

Mechanical injuries are mainly caused by the human body or part of the human body contacting the dangerous parts of the machine, or entering the dangerous area of the machine operation. The types of injuries include bruises, crushing injuries, rolling injuries and strangulation.

The dangerous parts and dangerous areas of mining machinery and equipment are mainly as follows:
(1) Rotating parts. Rotating parts of mining machinery and equipment, such as shafts, wheels, etc., may entangle people’s clothing and hair and cause injuries. The protrusions on the rotating parts may injure the human body, or catch the clothing or hair of the person and cause injury.
(2) The point of engagement. Two parts of mining machinery and equipment that are in close contact with each other and move relative to each other form a meshing point (see Figure 5-6). When a person’s hands, limbs or clothing contact mechanical moving parts, they may be caught in the meshing point and cause crush injuries.
(3) Flying objects. When mining machinery and equipment are in operation, solid particles or debris are thrown out, which injure the eyes or skin of personnel; the accidental throwing of workpieces or mechanical fragments may hurt the human body; the ore rock is thrown out at high speed when loading machinery and unloading, and people may be affected by unloading. hurt.
(4) Reciprocating part. The reciprocating movement area of the reciprocating mining machinery or the reciprocating parts of the machinery is a dangerous area. Once a person or a part of the human body enters, it may be injured.

To prevent personnel from contacting dangerous parts of mining machinery and equipment or entering dangerous areas, isolation measures are mainly taken: moving parts and components that are easy to be touched by personnel should be sealed as best as possible; dangerous parts or dangerous areas that personnel need to be approached Safety protection device; where people or part of the human body may enter the dangerous area, an emergency stop device or safety monitoring system should be set up. Once a person or part of the human body accidentally enters, the power supply will be cut off to keep the mining machinery at low energy status.

When adjusting, checking, or repairing the machinery without equipment, it may require personnel or part of the human body to enter the dangerous area. At this time, measures must be taken to prevent the mechanical equipment from starting by mistake.
