Newcrest Mining has made new progress in the exploration of the Red Chris project in British Columbia, Canada and the Havieron project in Western Australia.
The company reported a new discovery in the East Ridge prospecting area 300 meters east of the East Zone of the Redcris project.
A diamond drill sees 198 meters at a depth of 800 meters. The gold grade is 0.89 g/ton and the copper grade is 0.83%, including 76 meters thick, gold grade 1.8 g/ton and copper 1.5% mineralization. The ore body is in all directions. None of them penetrated.
Drilling in the eastern belt also saw high-grade gold mineralization, confirming the southern extension of the mineralization. At a depth of 528 meters, the ore is 524 meters, gold grade is 0.37 g/ton, copper 0.39%, including 156 meters thick, gold grade 0.71 g/ton, copper 0.59%, and 10 meters thick, gold grade 1.5 g/ton and 0.88% copper mineralization.
Currently, the project has 6 drilling rigs under construction, which will increase to 8 in the next quarter.
RedChris’s first resource volume will be completed this month.
In Patterson Province, Western Australia, intensification drilling of the Haweilong Gold Mine of Xinfeng Mining Company found high-grade mineralization. The specific conditions of the mine are as follows:
◎ 97 meters in the depth of 500 meters, gold grade 3.9 g/ton, copper 0.5%, including 15 meters thick, gold grade 9.7 g/ton and copper 1.8% mineralization;
◎ 169.5 meters of ore was seen at a depth of 711.5 meters, gold grade was 3.4 g/ton, copper 0.33%, including 58.9 meters thick, gold grade 6.2 g/ton and copper 0.23% mineralization;
◎At a depth of 537 meters, 79.3 meters of ore were seen, with gold grade of 4.5 g/ton and copper 1.4%; including 41.7 meters thick, gold grade of 8.4 g/ton and copper 2.6% mineralization;
◎ 109.4 meters of ore was seen at a depth of 622 meters, gold grade was 5.9 g/ton, copper 0.63%, including 24 meters thick, gold grade 17 g/ton and copper 1.4% mineralization.
The ore body has not penetrated deep. At present, the project estimates that gold resources are 3.4 million ounces and copper is 160,000 tons.
